Learning from my Hobbies
thecontraryfarmer.wordpress.com |
One of my hobbies is raising chickens. I love feeding them
every morning and afternoon. I love listening to their sounds when they crow. My
hen makes irritating noise when it finishes laying eggs but for me it makes my
day great. I sometimes get angry for it poops on my chairs outside. But most of
the time, they make me glad. If it comes out of the cage, it would be a
problem. I have to catch them as quick as possible, if not, others will help me
catch them and not expecting they will return it back to me. They catch if the
owner is not around. That’s cool! Sometimes I forgot to feed them especially when
I go to the other town. So when I arrive they make noise telling me ‘You forgot
our food! Where have you been?’ So, that makes me happy. I have to get food and
feed them. My wife and I sometimes have a fight because of them. But my chickens
don’t care about it.
At first, I only had two chickens, one is a rooster and the
other one is a hen. But now they are already eight. For the first time, my hen
laid eggs and hatched and became chicks. My hen’s first chicks were nine and
nothing was left. All is eaten by cats. The second ones were thirteen but two
were left. Others were eaten by cats and other just died. Oh, I remember, did I
tell you that my rooster is white and my hen is black? Yap, it’s a combination
of black and white. The first two which left were all white! They’re grown-ups
now. So, my hen laid eggs again, and it has fifteen eggs and thirteen were
hatched. That’s too many! It’s cool! And still two were left and they are all
black! And then, it laid eggs again. It’s eleven and three weren’t hatched. And
alas! Two were left and they are black and white! Perfect! Mathematically, all
of my chickens from my rooster and my hen were six. From all the struggles and
pain, wow! They made it! I’m so happy for that! Probably they planned it well!
Lol!

I almost forget to mention that they are stress-reliever too. When I become stressful, I have to just visit them at their cage, take them out of their cage, and let them roam around while feeding them. What about you? What are your hobbies? Have you learned from them too? Is it positive or negative?
